Gallbladder

The gallbladder is an organ that stores bile (the fluid that digests fat). It releases bile to your small intestine through a tube called the common bile duct. You may experience problems when something, such as a gallstone, blocks the flow of bile. Patients who experience frequent problems with the gallbladder, removal may be necessary. Removal is common, as the bile can reach the small intestine by other ways. Common conditions of the gallbladder include:
